Kilifi - Over 1,500 pupils from various primary schools affected by floods, within Magarini district in Kilifi county, have not yet reported back to school, the ministry of education has revealed.
In a statement to the media, Magarini district education officer Stephen Abere stated that out of 2000 pupils in fives primary schools adversely effected by floods only 500 have reported back.
"We are monitoring the situation and we shall release a report on the same very soon," said Abere.
Abere said that pupils in the affected schools may face challenges that may even affect their performance in school.
The education officer went on to add that some of the schools affected by floods are; Bate, Dagamra, Kundeni and Burangi among others.
If the rains persist, as it is being witnessed in the Coastal province then the affected schools may face further challenges of operating as schools reopen.
