Kisumu residents have been warned against misusing recreational facilities.
Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground Park manager Tom Nyinya has taken issue with a few members of the public for turning the facility into an ‘idlers park’ where they engage in indecent acts.
Speaking after the arrest of a couple that was caught misbehaving at the sports Ground, Nyinya warned that stiffer penalties will be taken against those found misusing the recreational facility.
26 year old Kennedy Okoth and his 24 year old wife Immaculate Auma were caught red handed by security guards at the facility, publicly displaying their affection for each other in the park on Tuesday.
The guards arrested the two and handed them over to the management team for counseling.
Okoth and Auma expressed their remorse and vowed never to repeat the act.
The park manager confirmed that such unethical behaviors were common in the facility, especially during the weekends.
However, he quickly added that the management team was working hard to come up with measures that will help curb the vice.
