Nyando District Public Health Department has intensified the fight against poor sanitation in and around market centers in the area.
According to Nyando Public Health Officer, Paul Owiti they have imposed ways to track down on individuals who have failed to construct toilets.
Owiti disclosed that they are working closely with the local Administration to arrest those who have failed to observe public health conditions even after being warned to do so.
He urged residents of Ahero and Awasi markets and their environs to embrace a cleaner sanitation so as to escape infections attributed to poor sanitation.
The health officer reaffirmed that as a department, they will not compromise with the few individuals who jeopardize the public health programs by failing to observe cleanliness.
"We discourage open defecation and will arrest anyone doing ", he warned.
