Fida hits out at govt over Tana

The Federation of Women Lawyers Kenya (FIDA) has hit out at the government at the manner at which they are approaching the Tana River chaos saying the State had failed to provide adequate security in the area.
In a press statement circulated to the media houses, the women rights group expressed their dissatisfaction against the security agencies provided to calm the area, saying it was not enough to quell the unrest in that area where more than 100 people have lost their lives.
FIDA at the same time condemned the government of lacking to put proper mechanism in place to collect data intelligence information from the ground and measures to diffuse tribal animosity adding that the government way of approaching the situation is a questionable one.
The group further called on the two Principals to move in swiftly and for fill their promises they made to Kenyans of ensuring their safety and securit,
FIDA at the same time also questioned the credibility of Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere and Minister of internal Security Yusuf Haji saying their approach to the situation is quit wanting.
