Salgaa - Three family members died on the spot in an accident that occurred at Salgaa along the notorious accident-prone Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The three, a father and his two children perished in the accident while the kid’s mother, who was driving the vehicle survived the grisly accident and is recuperating at the Nakuru’s Rift Valley provincial general hospital.
Rongai OCPD Johnston Karanga said the family members were headed to Nakuru from Eldoret, when their car collided head on with a car that had Tanzanian number plate.
“The family was traveling from Eldoret towards Nakuru when their vehicle crushed with an oncoming Jeep with Tanzanian number plate leading to the death of the husband and two children on the spot with the wife surviving with injuries,” said Karanga.
Passengers on board the Jeep were also injured.
This comes a couple of weeks after the National Transports and Safety Authority(NTSA) donated a vehicle fitted with speed cameras meant to patrol the highway on a 24-hour basis in a bid to help in curbing accidents.
