Father kills underage son for failing to sell pancakes

07 May 2015, 21:38 Godfrey Olukya

Kampala - Police in Kawembe have arrested a 43-year-old man who killed his 14-year-old son for refusing to sell pancakes.

Hajji Isa Mukasa earns a living by making and selling buns, pancakes and samosas.

According to one of their neighbors, Stanley Wakabi, Mukasa instructed his son, Lukyamuzi, to go and sell pancakes last evening as he usually does.

''Lukyamuzi told his father that he was not feeling well and so would not manage, forcing his father to do it,'' narrated Wakabi.

Wakabi said that after his return around 8.00PM, Mukasa started beating the boy after locking up his wife and other children in the bedroom.

Neighbors heard the boy crying but could not help him because the house was locked.

It was after the boy had collapsed that Mukasa opened the door to his house and attempted to escape.

People who were peeing into the house as he beat up the boy captured him and handed him to police.

The officer in charge of Kawempe police station, Patrick Alinyo said that they are holding Mukasa.

The boy's body was taken to hospital for postmortem.
