Nairobi - Exposed false Nairobi prophet Victor Kanyari will be charged for extortion and cheating, the office of the public prosecutor has said.
The disgraced Kanyari was exposed as a fraud over the weekend in an expose done on KTN's Jicho Pevu programme, where he was found to coach people to testify, as well as claim false miracles in order to extort money from Kenyans.
Kanyari has since been disowned by his wife, singer Betty Bayo, as well as most of his congregation, even though he has not apologized for his actions.
And the DPP's office, Thursday said it would follow up the case and have him charged for various offences.
" DPP orders Pastor Kanyari be probed for crimes of obtaining by false pretenses; cheating, etc, the statement from the DPP"s office read.
Kanyari is said to have attained wealth of epic proportions from his dealings and has acquired wide ranging property in the country as a result.
The Pastor says that he did what he did and has no apologies for it.
" I have no apologies. I am human and make mistakes too, he said when contacted by News24.
Kanyari is son to disgraced prophetess Lucy Nduta who was jailed for two years over fraud of similar ilk.
