Nakuru - Managing Director of Timex Insurance Agency (TIA), Kennedy Gwandaru, has raised alarm over a group of people going around the Nakuru County selling fake covers.
Gwandaru said the conmen are selling the covers using unregistered companies to swindle unsuspecting members of the public out of their money.
Speaking to the media Wednesday after holding a meeting with other Insurance agencies in Nakuru town, Gwandaru said the conmen are mainly targeting boda boda riders.
“The conmen are also using registered agencies to carry out their dirty work,” he noted.
The Managing director of TIA urged the public to make all their payments of insurance to the head offices of any insurance agency to curb the device.
Gwandaru also called on the Nakuru County government to come up with measures that can help safeguard the public from the conmen.
“At the moment, we can only urge the public to be making all their payments to their respective insurance agencies,” he said.
