Rift valley PPO John Mbijiwe has issued a public alert following a racket involving circulation of fake 1000/= notes estimated to be KES 40 million.
Mbijiwe said that the notes are already in circulation in Nakuru town, Molo, Narok and Kericho and has called on members of the public to be on the lookout any time they receive cash .
The PPO added that fake notes currency have differences in colour, texture and the CBK governor's signature which is also fake.
“We have some people who are in possession of this fake currency and are circulating it in some towns here in Rift Valley,” said the PPO.
