Three suspects among them a university student have been arrested in Nyeri town in connection with fake currency.
The suspects who were raided by the police at one of the hotels in town were said to have travelled from Nairobi where they operate from to Nyeri town.
Confirming the incident Nyeri police boss Kirunya Limbitu said that they recovered about KES. 800,000 of KES. 1,000 notes and other chemicals that are used in making fake notes.
He said that the fake currencies are in plenty in the town where many racketeers are cheating on the M-pesa operators and local supermarkets.

Recently a lady was arrested with more than KES. 500,000 fake cash in Kieni area. The case is still in court.
The suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday.
