Fake cop pleads guilty for illegal possession of ammunition

Mombasa - A 25 year old man has been charged in Mombasa law court with illegal possession of ammunition.
Frankline Simiyu Sasaka pleaded guilty to the offence before senior magistrate Richard Odenyo
Its alleged that on January 7 at Simba club in Likoni within Mombasa county the accused was found in possession of two 7.62mm rounds of ammunition in contravention of arms act.
The prosecutor Simon Waithaka told the court that on January 7 the accused introduced himself as a police officer at Simba club working in civilian clothes.
When challenged to identify himself he said he was armed and produced two rounds of ammunition.
Police on patrol were informed and arrested the accused; upon investigation the accused person was found not to be a member of any security department.
The case will be mentioned on January 21 2014 to avail the facts and exhibits from the CID headquarters ballistic section.
