FORA accuse Raila of dishonesty

21 August 2014, 21:14 Kenn Laban

Kakamega - Cracks continue to emerge in Orange Democratic Party (ODM) following the disputed party elections, and now Friends of Raila (Fora) National Coordinator, Alex Mukabwa has come out and bashed their party leader for being dishonest and protecting the infamous “men in black”.

Mukabwa claims that their party leader is trying to conceal the truth about the men and reiterated that Raila should have appointed a team to investigate those who disrupted the aborted polls before a fresh elections are held.

“He has been on record declaring that there’s no vacuum in the party and that the party will hold another election but as shareholders, we are asking; who were behind the bungled party polls? We need answers because the same forces may disrupt future party elections,” said Mukabwa.

The Coordinator said Raila has kept the party members guessing on what is happening in the party as most of them are still waiting for report on what happened in Kasarani in February.

“Luhyas should not be hoodwinked by what Raila is doing. We are saying there is no need of going into a referendum when our house is not in order. We all stand by Namwamba that elections must be held,” he asserted.

Mukabwa complained that some people feel ODM is their party and have for a long time treated other members as lesser important in running affairs of the party.

“We have many parties in Western and so have not run out of options. They should stop taking us for granted or we will move out,” he said and added that the Luhya community has been taken for a ride for many years.

“As Bob Marley said, you can fool some people sometime but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

Mukabwa claimed that Raila frustrated the late Michael Kijana Wamalwa in Ford Kenya before running away to leave him with a shell in the 1990s.

He observed that Raila allies used the same antics to drive his then deputy in ODM, Musalia Mudavadi out of the party and branded him a project adding Western leaders will not allow the same to be done to Namwamba.

“It will not be that when Nyanza leaders want to use us, we are democrats but become projects and moles anytime we want any leadership position in ODM. We will no longer accept to be used as rubber stamps,” he said.
