Embattled Nyahururu Mayor Timothy Nduhiu on Wednesday, April 25, got the court orders barring his fellow councillors from ousting him from office extended for a whole month.
Senior Resident Magistrate Alice Mong'are said the opposing Councillors told the involved parties to wait until May to know whether they will be allowed to discuss the mayor’s conduct on alleged abuse of office.
The councillors with the papers filed before the court, accused the mayor of using the official vehicle of the council for personal duties and even using the garbage collection truck to ferry building materials to a posh estate within the town where he is constructing a multimillion Bungalow.
The mayor’s lawyer, Martin Waichungo and Njuguna Kamanga for the civic leaders mutually agreed to defer the hearing to enable the mayor file an additional affidavit.
