Elderly men in court for defilement,incest

Nyeri - Two elderly men were on Monday arraigned in a Nyeri Court facing defilement and incest charges.

Peter Ndugo Muraguli was charged with defiling a 12-year-old girl on October 12 this year at Kiawara village in Kieni sub-county. He was alternatively accused of having an indecent act with a minor.

The court heard that the accused person knowingly and intentionally touched the minor her private parts without consent and defiled her on the same day.

However, appearing before Resident Magistrate Christine Wekesa the accused person denied both counts and was released on bond terms of KES 300,000.The case was fixed to proceed on November 11.

Separately, in the same court another elderly man was charged with incest and defilement.The court heard that on October 9 this year, Muriithi Ndegwa Muthumbi, defiled his niece, a 14-year-old girl.

He is suspected to have done the act at his home in Lambura village,Nyeri County.He faced an alternative count of having an indecent act with a minor unlawfully and intentionally.

However, the accused person denied the charges and was released on a KES.300,000 bond.The case was slated to begin on November 15.
