Easy win expected for Waititu in Kabete by election

Nairobi - An easy win is expected in the Kabete by election for Jubilee Alliance Party JAP's Ferdinand Waititu.
The by election will take place Monday in seeking to replace the former MP George Muchai who was killed in unknown circumstances in Nairobi.
Waititu is expected to prevail by virtue of being backed by JAP, president Uhuru Kenyatta's party and the political leader in the region.
That alone should see him home.
He will however compete on the day with ODM’s Wilson Kamau, PDU’s Isaiah Gichu Ndirangu, John Wamagata of Safina, Narc-Kenya’s Kavore Kariuki,
Kiriro wa Ngugi of the Democratic Party, NVP’s Newton Njenga and Paul
Kariuki Wandere of PPK.
George Waiguru completes the list as an independent candidate.
According to political analyst Michael Njenga, it is a no contest come the ballot.
" Waititu will win simply because the party that fronts him is the overwhelming leader in the region and there is no doubt about that at all, he says.
" The reality is that despite there probably being other candidates that might have a say, the president is big in that part of the world and that should be enough to see Waititu home and dry.
" ODM is not really a force and despite Wamagata of Safina also having a following, I struggle to see anything other than a Waititu win, he added.
The expected election win will herald the birth of JAP, which has endured an indifferent start to its political life, having been shunned in Kajiado Central and with there being conjecture on its existence from supposed political partners United Republican Party URP and the National Alliance TNA.
