EACC clears CS Chirchir over List of Shame
10 September 2015, 21:30
Nairobi - The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC has said that it will drop charges on suspended Energy CS Davis Chirchir over allegations he was involved in misappropriation of KES 90 million.
The EACC said that it had failed to find enough evidence to suggest Chirchir was involved in any wrongdoing and had instead forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions DPP for further consideration.
" The file has been sent to the DPP for further advice," the EACC said in a statement.
Chirchir was among 165 public officials who were named by the EACC as being involved in corrupt deals and graft.
Of the 165, 5 were Cabinet Secretaries and were all sent home.
Most though, have been cleared by the EACC and DPP of allegations of graft, including Kazungu Kambi, Charity Ngilu amongst others.
