Nairobi - Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC chairman Mumo Matemu faces the sack after parliament agreed to probe his ability or lack of to lead the highly pivotal body.
Matemu and one of his senior-most Committee members Irene Keino have been forwarded to parliament which is supposed to probe their ability to deal with corruption cases in the country without fuss.
Speaker Justin Muturi read out the petition to have the two probed Thursday which means that they will have to face the Legal Affairs Committee to defend their positions.
A Mr Geoffrey Oriaro is the one behind the petition.
The petition seeks the removal of Matemu and Keino for incompetence and violation of the
Constitution, stating that the two ate in serious violation of the Constitution, the
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act, the Anti-Corruption and
Economic Crimes Act as well as the Penal Code.
Matemu has recently been embroiled in squabbles at the EACC centered on the suspension of Deputy Chairman Michael Mubea over what was termed as integrity issues.
