Duale tells Nkaissery not to quit Kajiado seat, for now
04 December 2014, 08:04
Nairobi - Leader of Majority Aden Duale has told Interior CS nominee Joseph Nkaissery not to leave his parliamentary seat just yet until his appointment is approved by parliament.
Duale says that Nkaissery should play it safe till parliament approves his nomination to avoid the risk of losing both seats.
Nkaissery was appointed Interior CS Tuesday by president Uhuru Kenyatta to replace the sacked Joseph Ole Lenku and try quell the wave of insecurity blighting the country.
He has yet to state whether he will take up the position just yet, saying he has to consult his Kajiado Central constituents first before making any move.
By law, no politician is allowed to sit on the cabinet, except the president and his deputy.
