Nairobi - Leader of Majority in Parliament Aden Duale has hit back at claims by Homa Bay Senator that he will sue him for alleging he was involved in corrupt deals whilst in government.
Kajwang had earlier in the day threatened to sue Duale over claims that there was grand
corruption in the immigration ministry while he was minister.
Duale on Wednesday said that there was evidence in the hands of the
Jubilee administration that pointed to grand corruption in the
immigration department during Kajwang's time as minister in the grand
He said that there was evidence that Kajwang had granted many undeserving individuals work permits to stay in the country.
But with Kajwang's claims, Duale is not about to back down and has insisted that he knows the truth in the matter and will not hesitate to go to court if need be.
" Hon. Kajwang’ should carry his own cross. Already 104 persons
have been deported and 15 senior officers suspended. My lawyers are
ready, he said via his Twitter handle.
Kajwang had earlier hit back at Duale and his comments, claiming that he had insulted him by portraying him in bad light.
He further promised to sue him if he does not produce the evidence he says he has regarding the matter.
" I ask him to prepare for court if he does not produce the evidence he says he has, Kajwang said in Nairobi.
It is an allegation that gravely concerns me, my family and the people
of Homa Bay County. He should come forward with the evidence he has or
else I will follow it up in court, he added.
