Nakuru county Commissioner Amos Gathecha has put on notice drug peddlers in the county saying the law will deal with them accordingly.
Gathecha said his office will be mounting pressure on those who are in the illegal business in all the 11 sub-counties in Nakuru.
“Those who are in this illegal business should stop it because we are not ready to tolerate such kind of activity,” warned Gathecha.
Speaking on Monday morning, the county commissioner said they will not allow the drug barons to continue with their transactions in the county.
He further pointed out that his officers will keep working round the clock to bring those behind the menace to book.
Two are certified by govt to distill illicit brew
On the issue of illegal brew, Gathecha said only two people have been certified by the government to distill the liquor in Nakuru county .
However, he cautioned those selling the liquor without authorisation that they will be apprehended for failing to comply with the rule of law.
“In Nakuru county only two people have been given permits to be packaging the liquor but the rest have not,” he said.
He noted that the President's directive to fight all forms of drugs in the counties will be enforced to the letter.
