Drug peddlers and barons put on notice

04 February 2013, 13:49Steve Wambugu

Nakuru OCPD has put drug peddlers and drug barons operating in Nakuru County on notice that their days are numbered saying the police department has embarked on intensive fight against the illegal business.

The police boss said that his police officers were not going to stop at nothing until all the culprits are apprehended and brought to book.

Speaking to media on Monday morning at his office, Bernard Kioko said that they had received some reliable information about a few people involved in the illegal business saying that police officers in the town were working round the clock to arrest the few culprits.

“We have some reliable information about some few individual involved in this shady business but my police are working round the clock to arrest them,” said Kioko.

He added that the rule of Law will not be lenient to anyone who will be caught in drugs business, noting the efforts being made by the government in fighting against drugs in the country.

Kioko also challenged the public to assist the police in the fight against the vice in the town.

He added that the fight against the drugs dealing business is a collective responsibility of each Kenyan citizen.

“We urge the wananchi to work closely with the police in fighting against the business,” said the OCPD.
