Nairobi - There was drama at Chaka Township in Kieni constituency, Nyeri, after a young man confronted Governor Nderitu Gachagua telling him he should walk his talk.
The man asked for a microphone during a public meeting purporting to ask a question but immediately started castigating the governor.
Gachagua was inspecting development projects at Thegu River Ward while accompanied by a section of county government officials and a group of Ward Representatives.
While making his speech Gachagua pledged to improve infrastructure at Chaka market and build a pit latrine for traders and also lower licensing fee.
However, the man told off the governor claiming that he made same pledges four months ago when he visited the market.
“What you are saying is what you said four months ago. You should walk your talk. We want development. You can not promise us the same thing and you do not implement,” said the young man as public gave him an applause.
The governor’s communication officers immediately rushed to grab the microphone as security details surrounded to silence him.
The man was later escorted away from the crowd.
In response, irritated governor Gachagua called for patience saying he was pressing County Government workers to ensure public service was efficient.
“We are pressing workers to ensure they deliver. If they do not deliver do you want me to kill them? You must be patient,” said the County boss.
