Kampala - A girl who was reportedly beaten into a comma and buried in a shallow grave by a University student robber has been rescued by dogs.
The girl has been identified by police as Oliver Kala and was working at a mobile money booth at Entebbe international airport at the time of the incident.
The man who attempted to murder her was only identified as Yusuf, a first year law student at Nkumba University.
He robbed UGX 2 million from the girl.
According to the police commander of Entebbe, Geoffrey Ninsiima, Kala was duped into getting a lift from Yusuf after closing her booth and was taking the money she had transacted in the day to her boss.

''On the way, he stopped, pulled her out of the car and strangled her before stabbing her several times with a knife,'' he narrated.
Thinking that the girl was dead, he buried her in a shallow grave in a bush.
''The dogs in the neighborhood smelt blood and went to the grave where the girl had been buried and started barking until people went there and rescued the girl,'' said Ibrahim Olala, who lives near the area where the girl was buried.
The unconscious girl was rushed to hospital where she is still undergoing treatment.
Police is hunting for Yusuf who is now on the run.
