Doctors on strike in Nakuru

Operations at the Provincial General hospital in Nakuru came into a stand still in the better part of the day following a strike called by the Kenya Health Professionals Society(KHPS) in collaboration with the Kenya Union of Civil Servants.
Addressing to journalist today after their demonstration, main added that all the doctors and nurses will not be resuming to work until the8ir demands are met by the government. they also wanted the minister for health Professor Anyang Nyong'o to step down for failing to bring sanity in his ministry.
According to KHPS co-ordinator in the Rift Valley Mr. Mwai Maina said the government had failed to honour the agreements made by the group and the efforts by the society to write to the Ministry in charge of public health and public health had not bore any fruits.
“Following our previous agreements with the government,they have not yet met with our demands and our efforts to write to the ministry of healths is also yet to bore any fruits”said Maina.
The peaceful demonstration started from the hospital to Kenyatta avenue and ended at the Nyayo gardens.
Nakuru County Kenya Union of Civil Servants Secretary General Abdimalik Abdallah said the government must come out clear and explain the criteria used to select some health professionals and not others.
