Doctors complete Fidel postmortem examinations
06 January 2015, 14:34
Nairobi - The postmortem results for the late Fidel Odinga will be known imminently after an examination was conducted on the deceased by pathologists.
The postmortem was to be held Monday but was postponed to Tuesday after pathologists failed to get enough time to conduct it in the required natural light yesterday.
The postmortem was thus conducted Tuesday at the Lee Funeral home under the watchful eye of family members.
The death of the heir to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's throne died Sunday at his Karen home under mysterious circumstances.
He was described as a healthy individual and prior to his death had been in high spirits and a jovial mood.
It is understood that the results of the postmortem will be released at the Odinga home in Karen later on Tuesday.
Fidel will be buried Saturday 10 January at the Odinga's Bondo home after a requiem mass at the All Saints Cathedral Thursday in Nairobi.
There will be a body viewing session at the Lee Funeral home Wednesday and a similar one in Kisumu and Bondo Friday.
