Doctor defiles, impregnates 17-year-old girl

Nyeri - A family from Mugoiri area in Murang’a County is seeking justice for their 17-year-old daughter who was allegedly defiled and impregnated by a local doctor.
The mother of the class eight pupil told the press that police from the area have been reluctant to arrest the doctor who runs a private clinic in Kahuro town.
She lamented that the matter is being dragged, saying the officers could have been compromised.
The girl is alleged to have been defiled in May this year but the mother reported the matter to police in July when she realized that her daughter was pregnant.
The mother narrated that she had sent her daughter to the clinic for treatment since she was not feeling well, but the doctor took took advantage of her while administering an injection.

“The girl has a duly filled P3 form, but for a period of two months nothing has happened,” she continued.
The family also alleged that the doctor offered to marry the girl but they declined saying she wanted to continue with her education.
The girl said when she visited the clinic, the doctor gave her an injection that made her unconscious and when she was came to, the doctor was dressing up.
“I asked the doctor what he was doing but he dismissed me and gave me some drugs saying I should go see him when I feel better,” narrated the girl.
Kahuro OCPD, David Kandie said he has already compiled the file of inquiry and forwarded it to the office of public prosecution for further directions.
He said the family reported the case two months late and there is nothing that can be done until the child is born and DNA test carried out.
Kandie added that the accused doctor also appeared before his office complaining the family is out to spoil his reputation.
