Disco arrives, Kenyan style
27 January 2015, 18:18
Nairobi - Last year was for the
whole world one of the worst years in music, despite there being a number of
exceptional jams from Kenya and around Africa.
Kenyans seem to have taken this
personally and have gone out of their way to make this year count in the music
scene. At the front lines of this assault on bad music are Patoh Njuguna, Frasha
and Eric Wainaina who have released the most epic dance tune to come out of
Kenya in a while.
The new song called
Disco has a distinctly ‘Daft Punk’/ funk feel to it, combining the best of the
old school style with the Kenyan flow and feel. It is by far the best jam and
video to come out this year from the 254, and is a definite chart topper.
comes at a time when Frasha, formerly of the Kenyan hiphop group P-Unit, starts
his solo career. is his first attempt a hit or a miss?
