Nairobi - Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC chairman Isack Hassan has told detectives that he is not to blame for a corruption scandal nicknamed the chicken gate scandal.
Hassan was interviewed by detectives from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC Thursday morning.
He was asked to state his role in the scandal which has seen two officials from the UK firm Smith and Ouzman convicted of corruption.
This pertains to the printing of election material for the March 2013 General Elections from which it is said the IEBC officials took bribes to help the tender go through.
Hassan is understood to have said that he played no part in the scandal and that he did not receive anything as alleged.
He arrived at the EACC headquarters just after 7 PM.
Last week, he also denied taking part in the scandal and that he would ensure he clears his name.
" I was not a part of the matter as has been claimed and I will cooperate with police as much as possible to be able to clear my name," he said.
Others named in the scandal include former CEO James Oswago, current Energy CS Davis Chirchir and a broker Trevor Oyombra.
The rest are expected to appear before the commission next week.
