The Harambee Stars camp has been dealt a major blow with the absence of dependable left back Dennis Odhiambo who pulled a thigh muscle injury in training.
Odhiambo who was a natural left back had been seen by many as the new solution to Kenya’s left back crisis but now he is set to miss action for at least six weeks.
This narrows down Kimanzi’s options as he only had Odhiambo as a natural left back. However, the coach is still confident that they will down Malawi on Saturday.
“We have prepared well and despite the small injury set back we are focused on this match”, said Coach Kimanzi who has been cagy on his plans for the match.
Also, keeper Duncan Ochieng’ has been called up to camp to bring the total number of keepers to three with Arnold Origi still unavailable. AFC leopards shot stopper Patrick Matasi has been hit with a bout of Malaria and did not train on Monday and Tuesday.
