Nairobi - Demand uniform and ID from Nairobi County officials, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has told Kenyans.
Kidero said Tuesday that cases of city residents being harassed by supposed County officials in unclear circumstances can be reduced if they are always in uniform.
He added that no resident should be taken for a ride by a person who claims to be working on behalf of the County Council and has no uniform or even identification.
" It is your right to demand proper identification from anyone purporting to inspect your business or premise as some of them are thugs masquerading as officers," he said.
He also asked affected residents to report such incidences by calling the numbers 0725 624489 and 0720 550738.
Residents have complained previously of being harassed by officials from the county, with Kidero however insisting that there should be no room for that.
