Nairobi - The Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered quick investigations into the death of a Form Two girl who passed on after she was allegedly gang-raped by boda boda operators in Narok town.
The 16-year-old girl died while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital where she was admitted.
So far, police have arrested four people in connection to the death.
Police reported that the deceased’s clothes were recovered on Sunday hidden in a thicket, three kilometers away from where her body was discovered.
“It is claimed that a Form Two student at Mary Hills Girls School in Thika, Margret Kantirro, was gang-raped by a gang of bodaboda operators in Narok Town on 11th April, 2014 leading to her death on 16th April, 2014 while she was admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized treatment,” said the Deputy DPP Kioko Kamula in a statement.
“The allegations, if correct, are serious and warrant urgent and thorough investigations. The Director of Public Prosecutions therefore directs that investigations not only be commenced but also fast tracked so that all the culprits are identified and brought to justice,” he stated.
