Nakuru - KANU has said that deputy President, William Ruto is afraid of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi's rising star in Rift Valley politics.
KANU secretary, Nick Salat said that Ruto is scared of the young Moi because he knows that 2017 will be a tough race for him in Rift Valley.
Speaking in Nakuru town Thursday afternoon after meeting party delegates, Salat said that KANU and Moi will not stop to traverse the expansive Rift Valley in their efforts to revive the party.
"As KANU, we have decided that the entire Rift Valley will be back in KANU in 2017 and we are not going to be cowered by threats from those who fear competition," said Salat.

Salat added that it was time for Gideon and KANU to take their rightful place in Rift Valley politics.
"Gideon has decided that he wants to lead Rift Valley and Ruto will not stop him. People should be prepared to see a new KANU and the whole country will feel our presence in 2017," he said.
He said that KANU will soon launch a nationwide member registration drive as part of their preparations for 2017 elections.
