DNA confirms MP raped woman, released on KES 100,000 bail

Nairobi - DNA results have confirmed that Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti raped a woman in his office and the MP has been released on a KES 100,000 bail.
Mwiti was arraigned before Resident Magistrate Edah Agade Thursday following his arrest late Wednesday before he was locked up at
Kileleshwa Police station.
The offence against a female journalist is alleged to have been committed at the MPs Westlands office two weeks ago.
The MP was somewhat controversially released on bail, something the DPP's office contested quickly but were rebuffed, since the MP is not a flight risk.
