Nairobi - Giant Courier firm DHL Express on Monday put a smile on children at St Therese development center by donating a state of the art playing unit to the institution that is located at Naivasha, Nakuru County.
The company’s Managing Director, Charles Brewer said the donation is part of the company's social responsibility it's doing in Kenya and Africa at large.
Priest in charge of the institution, Fr Makarios Isaac lauded Mr Brewer’s gesture as timely and overdue saying it's good to show love and care to the little children.
"Our institution is home to 50 children of whom 95 percent are sexually assaulted and 5 percent physically abused and we welcome any assistance from individuals and the corporate world so that we can integrate them back to the society,” he said.
The children’s home was started three years ago to help orphaned and abused children and has successfully integrated 22 graduands back to the society.
Operating in 54 different countries, DHL supports 300 different programmes throughout the continent as a way of giving back to the society.
