Court set to rule on Vihiga MP's poll petition

Vihiga - Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu will on Tuesday know whether he will lose or retain his seat at the Kisumu High Court.
Chanzu's election was petitioned by Ernest Kavai (Kagesi) who came second in the last general election.
He claimed that there were serious anomalies which denied him the chance to win the election.
But Chanzu who beat Kavai with over 7000 votes exuded his confidence, saying that the petition will favour him.
He said that it was Kavai's right to go to court after feeling cheated in the elections, but then he knew that many people in Vihiga supported his cause.
"The people voted for me overwhelmingly and that is why I beat my nearest competitor by a huge margin," said Chanzu.
Chanzu is serving the second successive stint as the Vihiga MP.
