Court releases kidnap, rape suspect

A man who was arraigned in a Nyeri Magistrate’s court Tuesday on charges of abducting and defiling a minor was released on a bond term of KES 50 000.
Samson Nderitu Gichuhi was charged that on April 17, 2013 he willingly and unlawfully defiled a 12-year-old girl whom he had abducted.
It was alleged that Nderitu committed the offence at Endarasha location in Kieni constituency, Nyeri County.
Before Resident magistrate John Aringo, the accused denied the charges and was released on a bond term of KES 50 000 and a surety of similar amount or a cash bail of KES 30 000. The case was slated to proceed on July 11 with a mention on July 16.
In the same court, a man accused of forging invoices denied charges of making company documents without authority.
Douglas Mugwe Mugo was charged that on April 24, 2013 at Kiganjo location in Nyeri County he willingly and unlawfully made the documents with intention to defraud or deceive.
The documents bore the names of Brade Gate poultry industries, a popular industry in Nyeri County.
He was alternatively charged with unlawfully making the invoice documents and purporting them to be genuine and issued by Brade Gate Company.
The accused was however released on a bond term of KES 50 000 or a cash bail of KES 30 000. The case was slated for hearing on July 11 this year with a mention on July 4th.
