Nairobi - A Nairobi court has ordered the arrest of renowned TV anchor Jeff Koinange for ignoring court orders.
The Kenya Television Network KTN host of the show JKL live has together with PR guru Tony Gachoka been ordered arrested for failing to adhere to a court order stopping them from speaking about a certain topic on their show.
Nairobi Senior Resident Magistrate Maisy Chesang issued the arrest order Wednesday after Koinange and Gachoka failed to appear in court to answer charges of discussing the conduct of a company in the media despite a court order barring the same.
She ordered the two be brought before her with immediate effect.
" A warrant of arrest is issued against the two respondents for failing to honuor the summons to appear in court. The warrant will be effected through the complainants’ advocates," the ruling read.
Businessman Jimi Wanjigi, Sani Wanjigi and Kwacha Group of Companies Limited had obtained the court order stopping Koinange from discussing about their company on the show.
The case will be heard June 5, 2015.
