Court once again denies Githurai strippers bail

Nairobi - Two men accused of stripping a woman in a Githurai bus have been denied bail for the second time.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Court presided over by Hon. Hanna Ndungu declined to release the two, a minibus driver and his conductor on bail following an objection raised by prosecution led by Snr. Prosecution Counsel Eddie Kadebbe.
The Magistrate further declined to order the release of the vehicle where the assault is suspected to have occurred.
They are also accused of stealing the woman's belongings including a telephone and cash and face a possible death penalty if found guilty.

The two were arrested after a film shot on a mobile telephone on September 19 showed a violent mob stripping a woman in the bus.
Following the incident, the government cancelled the licence of Nazigi Sacco, after investigations revealed that it happened in one of their vehicles.The hearing of the case has been fixed for 20 January, 2015.
