Couple arrested for murder of husband's concubine

Migori - Police in Migori County are holding a couple in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old woman.
Milicent Atieno is alleged to have stabbed to death Milicent Achieng' after she found her with her husband in a compromising situation.
The heinous killing at Dip Estate within Migori town happened on Friday and threw the whole town into grieving after the late Achieng’ was pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Ombo Mission where she was rushed for treatment by neighbours.
According to Atieno, she stabbed her victim out of rage for snatching her husband of 16 years.

She said they have been in squabble with the husband, Bernard Otieno, over the alleged affairs with the late for a long time before she finally cornered them on Friday at 5.30 am.
The suspect said the husband had sometimes back convinced her that he had terminated the relationship between him and the deceased but she kept on getting information that their affair was still going on.
But in an interview with Otieno at the Migori Police station, he admitted that the affair between them had been there for one month and the wife was aware of it.
He further revealed that he had informed the wife that he wanted to marry the late Millicent Achieng' as a second wife, but she declined.
Otieno said he went to wake up the late Achieng' in the morning before the fracas which led to her demise.
A senior police official however confirmed the arrest but declined to give more information directing reporters to get details from the Inspector General, Kimaiyo.
