Nyeri - Nyeri County governor Nderitu Gachagua on Monday dismissed allegations by certain area members of parliament that he was sidelining them in his development agendas.
Gachagua said the reports raised by some politicians and civil society members have no grounds and are unfounded.
The politicians, led by Nyeri Town MP,Esther Murugi accused Gachagua of playing the lone ranger in running the affairs of the county government.
Instead, the governor responded that the MP's and some members of County Assembly are turning a cold shoulder to his invites to local forums. The politicians last weekend said they saw the forums in the media and on other occasions they received invitations at the last minute through text messages.
“We invite our MPs and other elected leaders in all development forums but hardly any of them shows up, they say they are always busy,” Gachagua said. He however insisted that he would move on with his development plans including organizing an investors conference slated for November 15 and 16.
The governor was speaking in Nyeri town while addressing media.
