Could what you wear be hurting your health?

Nairobi - Have you ever imagined that sometimes what you wear could be hurting your health? Clothing may have a major influence on your well-being. They could be the blame for certain ailments ranging from cancer, skin infections, spinal misalignment, backaches, headaches, muscle strains or posture problems.
Well, the skimpy pieces of lingerie are sexy and again will cover the nightmare of displaying those ugly, dreaded panty lines on your pants. They work wonders for panty lines but sometimes rub the wrong way or even feel not all that clean. They rub against the external part of your reproductive system which can cause tears due to inflammation caused by the rubbing; it also causes irritation and wicking. The G-string acts as a connector and creates free ride for bacteria from the perineum to the vagina causing a yeast infection and UTIs. The skimpy underwear is all that bad for our health.
It’s a common habit especially amongst women who carry unnecessary heavy handbags on their shoulders. Carrying an uneven load can cause back pain. Carrying 15% of your weight regularly strains your muscles and causes back pain and spinal misalignment. If you must carry so much weight then distributing that weight to your arms may reduce the health risk associated with overloading.
Jewelry and accessories
Those pretty pieces of jewelry can put your health at risk especially if they are made of metals containing nickel elements, copper etc. Chains, earrings, bracelets that are made of such metallic elements can cause allergy reactions to the skin including rash, itching and redness. Wearing hypo allergic jewelry made from metals like gold, stainless steel, titanium or silver will protect your skin from allergy. The latter three are quite affordable and stylish.

Flip flops and flats
They are comfy and relaxant but can cause plantar fascilitis.Wearing flip flop for longer periods can pose such health risk. Flats lack the arch support that can cause havoc on your feet.
It’s not new that high heels hurt. Wearing high heels for long periods causes fatigue, muscle shortening and tightness in the muscle tendons. Walking on more than 3-inch heels causes more bone on bone movement in the knee than wearing supportive flats. Heels also sabotage posture leading to muscle pain and headaches.
Small and tight shoes
Wearing shoes that do not fit also defiles our feet causing pain, corns, bunions and ill- grown toes as well as swellings (metatarsalgia).
Wearing brassieres that are too tight causes constant pressure, leading to migraines and damage of the breast tissues. They also strain the muscles, breathing and affect the shoulders causing wide indentations eventually affecting your posture and health. Unsupported breast could cause a backache. Finding the perfect brassiere for your size maybe tedious but it’s worth your health.
