Cop takes twilight girl home

Drama unfolded at Nanyuki Police Station on Thursday after it was discovered that a Police Officer had decided to take a twilight girl to his room instead of locking her up in cell.
It was also discovered that the same officer had removed her from the list of commercial sex workers who had been arrested alongside her.
Officers were treated to a spectacular drama when a group of commercial sex workers stormed the station demanding the release of their colleagues.
One of them who did not want to be mentioned told the media that the girl called them in the morning using the officer’s phone.
“She called us in the morning using the Police Officer’s phone and said that she spent the night in his room,” she said bitterly.
The girls pitched tent at the booking office and demanded release of their colleague from the cells.
However, the officer on duty could not identify her amongst many others who had been nabbed the previous night during a swoop.
When the officer said he could not locate her, they told him that she was in an officer’s house and even produced the house number where the girl spent the night.
Officers on duty could not believe it until they found the two in the officer’s room.
A Police Officer based at the station who sought anonymity said that the lady was demanding KES 50 000 from the youthful officer but when he failed to raise the amount, she contacted her colleagues.
Senior officers were informed of out the incident and ordered that he be taken to the cells where he spent several hours.
Contacted, outgoing Laikipia East Police Boss Joshua Lutukai said what the officer had done was very wrong and unethical.
He said that they are dealing with the matter internally at the station.
Lutukai however said that the culprit must be disciplined accordingly.
