Nyeri - An Administration Police officer from Nyeri town was Wednesday hospitalized at a Nanyuki hospital following injuries he sustained after he was found pants down with a matatu driver’s wife in Narumoru town, Kieni.
The officer in the ranks of a Sergeant was found romping with the woman at her rental house in the busy township during the morning hours.
The woman, who is a mother of two, works as a nurse at Narumoru Dispensary, according to neighbours.
It was alleged that the woman's husband, a matatu driver, was told by neighbours that his wife had been having an illicit affair with a police officer for the last two years.

Before the incident, neighbours called him via phone informing him that the officer had just arrived at his house, prompting him to go back unexpectedly.
He stabbed the officer severally on the head, neck, chest and the back leaving him for the dead after locking the house from outside.
He did not also spare his wife since she was also admitted at the same hospital with hand or leg injuries.
The man later handed himself over to police who locked him up at the Narumoru Police station.
“The two have been having an affair for a long time but the man was not aware. We feel bad because they would have gone to a hotel lodging instead of doing it in the man’s house,” said a resident who sought anonymity.

However, residents who welcomed the officer’s misfortunes said the officer arrives in morning just after the man has left to work and children to school.
“He is a very hardworking man who loves his family. He has also invested in his wife by funding her education till she became a nurse. She was really betraying him,” said women neighbours.
By the time of going to the press, the man’s family was camping at the police station waiting to hear his plight from the police.
