Nakuru police boss OCPD Johnston Ipaara has urged local Universities to form community policing so as to bring security in to the County and all institutions.
Speaking in his officeon Thursday, as he met with the officials of Students' Union of Egerton University, Ipaara said such policing can be of great importance in especially when students cause mayhem.
“Such policing will help a lot when students cause mayhem or when they are planning to stage one, at least the police will be able to move in before things get out of hand and put any situation that may arise into control” Ipaara said.
The OCPD said in a move to market the police department, all police stations in the County were now free to offer internship positions to university students adding that such a move had not been witnessed in the past.
