Mombasa - Commissioner Nelson Marwa has warned that security is beefed up to deal with any insecurity threat ahead of the opposition Saba Saba rally Planned for Monday.
Marwa has said more security forces have been deployed at possible areas of threat to maintain peace warning that those who violate the law will face full force of the Law.
Addressing the press in a security meeting with officers in charge of stations, OCPDs at the county headquarters, Marwa has assured residents of their security and warned of those who intent to cause chaos that they will face the full force of the law. He warned politicians over hate speeches that may incite citizens.
“We want not to leave all stones unturned, we have gotten additional security to reinforce security,” he added.
Marwa however confirmed that the police had not received any information of a possible rally within Mombasa County urging all Kenyans to slam the Saba Saba day and continue with their daily activities.
He urged Kenyans not to be lured by few politicians who have their own invested interests. So far we have not received any request from anybody who wants to conduct any meeting, so Kenyans should go to work, all public holidays are all enshrined in the constitution, Said Marwa.
His sentiments come as the opposition side of government plans to hold its last rally at Uhuru Park in the push for a national dialogue.
