Comedian quits Churchill show
05 January 2015, 18:49
Nairobi - The comedian who goes by the name of Wagithomo has come out
in public to tell his fans that they won’t be seeing him on the Churchill show
any time soon.
In the post, he expressed his disappointment with working with
the Churchill show claiming that it is an "f-ed up" company. He
claims that Churchill is hiding in sheep’s skin to create
a facade of goodwill and that people should go do free events at bars rather
than work under his company.
His outburst has exposed cracks in the Kenyan
stand- up comedy industry that don’t show through on TV.
" To all of you calling me and in-boxing
me asking why I'm no longer on Churchill Raw/Show, let me state it here that
you shouldn't expect me anytime soon."
" Some things are not always what they seem to be. That is one "f-ed
up" company. Churchill is one guy that hides in sheepskin to create this
facade of goodwill. The fact is, an artiste would rather do his act in a bar
and for free than assume that his/her efforts will pay off under the
"Churchill" umbrella. That is one mean guy."
" Too bad comedy in Kenya
is still under a monopoly. But a day will come when.. (Let me not say more)", he added.
