Citi Hoppa bus rolls in grisly Valley Road accident
30 September 2015, 18:40
Nairobi - A Citi Hoppa bus lost control and rolled along Nairobi's Valley Road next to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC headquarters injuring scores of people.
The incident took place just past 4 PM Wednesday and caused a massive traffic jam along the usually very busy road.
According to witnesses, the bus lost control after the driver tried to avoid hitting a boda boda motorbike rider.
The bus then rolled and ended up on its side.
Scores of bloodied passengers were stuck inside the bus and it took the intervention of paramedics from the St John Ambulances, Kenya Red Cross and Nairobi County Council to free them.
There were no immediate casualties mentioned.
" There are many injured badly and have been taken to nearby hospitals," A red Cross coordinator told News24.
Valley Road is considered by many to be a dangerous spot thanks to its dipping nature and the unroadworthy nature of many vehicles.
