Nyeri - Christian faithfuls have been asked to protect Muslim believers as the Ramadhan period continues.
Kieni East deputy County Commissioner, James Chacha said Christians have a duty to protect the Muslims ‘from any social or physical attacks during the holy season’.
“We have a duty as Christians to protect our Muslim brothers and sisters during the holy season. Let us show them love and care to strengthen peaceful co-existence as one community,” said Chacha.

Speaking over the weekend in Kieni, Chacha said Kenyans must live together in peace irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
He further asked parents whose sons and daughters have gone missing to report to police as he expressed concerns that Al Shabaab could be recruiting young people from the area.
“We have information that some youths have joined terror groups on promises of green pasture and better income. Members of the public should volunteer information to the relevant authorities,” he added.
