Two Chinese nationals were yesterday arrested in Meru Town after they allegedly sold fake mobile handsets to unsuspecting customers.
Zeng Mingqai, 38,and Wu Qinglin, 35 were arrested by police after members of the public reported that they had been sold fake handsets.
Confirming the incident,area police boss Tom Mboya Odero said the two had already been taken to court.
He said the police also managed to recover 39 new assorted mobile phones of different makes.
He said the two were in the country on holiday and had sold the counterfeit handsets for between Sh 2,000 and Sh 2,500.
“Foreigners are very much welcome to our country but they have to abide by the law of the land,”he said.
