Children vulnerable to Barnabas black spot accidents

Nakuru - A large number of people being hit by speeding vehicles at Mbaruk black spot along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway are children.
According to the Nakuru County Elders Peace Forum Chairlady, Theresia Ngige, lack of bumps is the main cause of accidents.
Speaking on behalf women in Nakuru under the Nakuru County Elders Peace Forum, Ngige called on the traffic department to ensure that bumps are erected at the spot.
Their call comes a day after one child was hit by a speeding vehicle at the area, leaving her with injuries.
“Right now as we speak, one child hit by a speeding vehicle the other day is currently admitted at the Provincial General Hospital,” said Ngige.
At the same time, she further raised concern over cases of drunken people who end up getting hit by speeding vehicle as they stagger on the road.
